Questions about Medi-Cal Dental (Denti-Cal)?

If you are looking for wisdom teeth removal or tooth extraction with Medi-Cal Dental, also known as Denti-Cal, call our Auburn office before scheduling. We accept Liberty Dental (Medi-Cal) and various PPO plans. Our team can check eligibility and explain required referrals and any prior authorization requirements. Eligible extractions can be covered benefits; coverage depends on your individual benefits and the recommended treatment.

Implant treatment at Auburn Heritage

Our Heritage Oak Place location also offers general dentistry, allowing implant surgery and the final restoration to be coordinated at the same location. Ask about the full treatment plan, including extraction, bone grafting when needed, implant placement, and the final crown. Implant services require a separate benefits and cost review; accepting a dental plan does not mean every implant procedure is covered.

How do I request a tooth extraction or wisdom teeth consultation?

Call (530) 823-1100 or use the consultation request form. Tell our team which procedure you need and the name of your dental plan. Oral surgery is offered on scheduled surgery days; the office will confirm the next available appointment.

Do I need a referral, and what should I bring?

A referral is required. Please bring your insurance benefits card, required referral, and current medication list.

Anesthesia and appointment availability

All surgical procedures are performed using local anesthesia, with nitrous oxide (laughing gas) available to help patients relax and reduce anxiety. Patients remain awake while using nitrous oxide.

Saturday oral surgery appointments are offered. Please call to confirm availability at your preferred location.

I recently had all four teeth extracted by Dr. Afifi. At first, I was pretty apprehensive—especially since they don’t offer general anesthesia— But Dr. Afifi reassured me that the numbing would be enough He was incredibly patient and kind, even when I needed double the usual amount of anesthetic. He never once said “we can’t do this,” nor did he rush me. He was determined to get all four out. The laughing gas didn’t do anything for me I still felt the absolute same. The numbing is the only thing that pretty much worked well once we adjusted the dosage. When I felt tension, Dr. Afifi cracked a little joke—“Hmm, tough cookie, huh?”—nice comment to put someone at ease Between the warm professionalism, genuine patience, and his skillful execution, I couldn’t be more satisfied. As an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, he brings both expertise and empathy to every procedure. If you’re looking for a dentist who listens, adjusts as needed, and still delivers excellent surgical skill—Dr. Afifi is your guy. Thank you Arman
