Dr. Oscar Alonzo is a native of the San Francisco Bay Area and a highly experienced oral and maxillofacial surgeon.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in Psychology from San Francisco State University before receiving his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the prestigious University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). Dr. Alonzo then completed his postgraduate residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Los Angeles County-Martin Luther King Jr./Drew Medical Center. To further expand his medical expertise, he attended medical school at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA)/Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science and completed a one-year General Surgery internship through the University of California, Davis/East Bay in Oakland. Dr. Alonzo is certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), reflecting his commitment to the highest standards of patient safety.
Experience & Professional Involvement
With more than 30 years of private practice experience in Southern California, Dr. Alonzo brings extensive expertise to oral and maxillofacial surgery. He also has over 25 years of experience as a General Anesthesia Evaluator for the State of California.
Dr. Alonzo remains actively involved in organized dentistry and academic communities both locally and internationally. He is a Fellow of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, a Diplomate of the American Dental Board of Anesthesiology, and an active member of the California Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons as well as the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
