Dr. Paula Muñoz is a compassionate and bilingual oral and maxillofacial surgeon, committed to delivering exceptional care to her patients.
A Sarasota, Florida native, Dr. Muñoz earned the prestigious Robertson Scholarship, allowing her to study at both the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Duke University, where she graduated with honors. She went on to receive her dental degree from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine where she received the esteemed Dr. Milton Schlesinger Award for Excellence in Research. She also contributed to research on Ebola, Zika, and dental advancements at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
Dr. Muñoz completed her oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at Alameda Health System – Highland Hospital, where she served as Chief Resident during her final year. She participated in a cleft mission trip with Operation Smile in Ecuador, reflecting her deep commitment to global health. Her comprehensive training provided full-scope surgical experience, with a special focus on dentoalveolar surgery, outpatient sedation, benign pathology, bone grafting/implant surgery, maxillofacial trauma, orthognathic surgery, TMJ disorders, and cosmetic injectables.
Fluent in both English and Spanish, Dr. Muñoz is dedicated to meeting the diverse needs of her community, fostering trust, and delivering personalized care.
Outside of her professional life, she enjoys traveling, playing tennis, and passionately cheering on the Tar Heels.
